He was a talented broadcaster and a class act. He maintained a level of dignity in the ESPN hype machine while also being able to have some fun. The Sports Reporters used to be a must watch for me and I always admired how he ran the show. He will be missed.

Wow, this seems sudden and unexpected. Was he sick?

He will be missed.

Here's Hannah Storm's announcement (http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/hannah-storm-announces-live-on-sportscenter-that-john-s-1785085661) of John Saunders' death on ESPN.

Still no word on the cause of death, other than there doesn't seem to be any foul play involved. He was an excellent broadcaster, and we all owe him debt of gratitude, as he was a founding member of the Jimmy V Foundation. RIP.

Unless it was an accident, have to assume a heart attack. BRUTAL! 2016 has been a horrendous celebrity death year, especially for people going before their time. Amidst all of the well reported misogyny in Bristol, CT, Saunders was supposedly a real gentleman and a mentor.

He came across as a level headed nice man. Not at all like some of the other schtick clowns at ESPN. Very sad.
