Duke comes is at No. 23 (fifth in the ACC) in the final Director's Cup Standings, which were released today:

That's not bad, but it is a slight slippage from last year (Duke was 20th) and a bit lower than recent years.

No points for women's basketball and fewer points than we used to get (although not than last year) for men's lacrosse undoubtedly accounted for some of that slippage.

Alas, if we add Beach volleyball as a program I fear there may be more slippage.

I posted this late last night on Diablesseblu's thread on the Off-Topic Forum. Here's the position of Duke by year since 1993-1994.

1994 26
1995 21
1996 39
1997 23
1998 28
1999 7
2000 24
2001 16
2002 30
2003 21
2004 18
2005 5
2006 8
2007 11
2008 19
2009 17
2010 10
2011 5
2012 16
2013 12
2014 9
2015 20
2016 24

Duke has finished as high as #5 in 2005 and 2011, but the results this year are the worst since 2002 and more typical of our results in the 1990's. Also, it helps to win national championships.
