I know we have a number of Vets on DBR, and others who are related to or know those who have served and protected this great country. We all are thankful for your service and remember those we have lost. Always in our memories and hearts.

I wish all a great safe holiday. This cartoon shows the power of graphic expression. I never fail to tear up each year when I access it again for my Memorial Day postings.

This is the one that brings tears to my eyes each year.

Thank you to all that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. God bless them and their family and friends.

Indeed, a sad song and a moving video. But forgive me if I nitpick and suggest a song and video honoring Australian soldiers at Gallipoli is not quite right for our Memorial Day.

Can I offer instead this video of John Williams" "Hymn to the Fallen" (the theme to Saving Private Ryan) and the video that goes with it honoring American fallen veterans from all our wars. I cannot watch this without tears in my eyes:
