Good list. Will add:
6) After sanctions are announced this summer, all scholarship upperclassmen transfer; all recruits decommit

That said, regarding Number 3 on your list, I have seen crazy numbers like that tossed out by several posters, and to me there is just no way. Even if they ultimately get hammered, by the definition I have in my head of what that means, there is no way they get more than a one year post season ban. Just not going to happen in my opinion. I would be shocked if they got even a 2 yr post season ban.

Newton_14 while I don't want to agree, I suspect you are correct. If we accept as a general premise that the window of bad behaviour was 20 years, can the NCAA really afford to say 20 years of infractions is only a one year penalty?

My guess is we will know Tuesday one way or the other.

You'd have to go with the 25 to toast with something from an era when the UNC program was beyond reproach.

Let's just hope they don't win. I hate hearing UNC fans. They are the least gracious college basketball fans for my money.

I don't think they win but hopefully Hicks and Jackson both leave with Brice and Paige. They struggle to find transfers and then are hit over the summer with sanctions and lose titles, wins, scholarships plus practices

I trust a lot more in Coach K than the NCAA, so if Grayson comes back, we'll have a good shot at winning it in 2017.

I would love to see the NCAA come down with their tiny hammer really soon. It will no doubt be smaller than it should, but something is better than nothing.

If they win (please NO! Go Nova!), then I could see Roy leaving and also Jackson going NBA. I would like both of those things.

If there is any justice, that 2005 Title should go the way of Michigan's Final Fours from the Fab Five era. Of course, justice and the NCAA are not often spoken in the same sentence.

Having been at Duke in the early 2000s, I can assure you that it would be difficult to beat out Maryland fans on that ground.

That being said, I do agree that we will never hear the end of this from the Tar Heels if they win. In fact, I think if they are punished after the championship, they will hold onto this one like Sméagol on his precious, and become 10000x more obnoxious.

Agreed ... but allow me to offer a strategy for dealing with it.

Be gracious and congratulate them on the title, then add:

"And I don't think this one will be vacated."

Or

"I'm glad that Roy finally won one without cheating."

Or

"Now that Roy has three titles to Dean's two, don't you agree that he's the greatest coach in Carolina history?"

You can make up your own zingers. I just suggest you stay cheery and congratulatory before you shove the knife in.

That's a great help. We are going to a wedding in Raleigh in two weeks and the father of bride is a big nannynannybooboo kind of hole fan. Always fake gentlemanly irritating and sneering and he'll be crowing up a storm and he might even pat me on the head and ask me "What do you think now, little lady?"

So thanks Oly, I will def be posing your question. And then I'll tell him to fetch me another drink. And I will not dance with him. Period.

I have no idea why having Roy Williams retire is on the list but agree with everything else.

For one, if Roy retires, they might actually hire a competent coach whose strategy for winning games extends beyond "miss as many shots as possible so we can grab the board with our amassed collection of former 5-star recruits, who had NBA futures but now will have 3 pt/5.5 reb average career highlights."

I would prefer he stay for as long as possible, not just so he has to coach meaningless, post-season-less games and seasons in the twilight of his career, but we can finally see how awful his basketball tactics are when he doesn't have a team stockpiled with wasted elite talent. You would have years and years of middling UNC teams in the bottom half of the ACC regularly getting beat by 20 - 30 points by FSU, Miami, ND, certainly Duke and maybe even NC State.

So, please Roy, don't retire.

It's OK to like some of the players. Not OK to like the team. Not OK to hope they win the championship.

FWIW, I am an alum and I agree with rsvman. Granted, it's a short list.

Paige seems like a good kid and I admire how he has fought through adversity. I wish him luck at the next level, and hope to send him off with a fine performance in UNC's otherwise crushing loss tonight.

I imagine that will entail getting out of the D League, but he does seem like a good kid.

Losing in the title game is a bitter pill to swallow....bottoms-up to the Heels....I can only hope! I guess that what makes sports so invigorating, I am going to watch a game that will either give me enormous pleasure or ungodly pain. The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last...

I'd rather see Roy having to suffer through a few years of mediocre teams, the result of his own misdeeds.
