As it has been pointed out. Jay works for ESPN. His boss went to UNC.. For the smartest man in the room theory if he thinks Roy didn't know..Good grief Man.. Come on..

The clip on tie is a metaphor for an 8th grade effort in due diligence. We all know he is very intelligent.

Alternatively, as an explanation, he has sold out, or maybe worse his personal crusade against the NCAA trumps all. Toughness? Jay Bilas? Puzzling, isn't it?
