I got the idea from this site (http://www.lastman.us/) via this article on 538 (http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/at-least-29-people-still-dont-know-who-won-the-super-bowl/). Once the championship game starts, the next time I visit DBR will be to post that I found out who won.

Anyone else want to play? If so, post here.

I'd just pull a Kramer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwH__x6jV6A

True story. Spring Tour 1990, got my Dead tix for Atlanta. Turns out we make the championship game against Vegas, the same night as one of the shows. Perfect, I figure, I'll tape the game; go to the show; then come back and watch the game. Perfect plan.

Leaving the smoking hot show, I ran into a friend who was a huge Carolina fan. She stops me and says, "wow, y'all got your butts whipped by 20 or so!" I went home and threw the tape in the garbage, still have never seen the game.

So, no, I will not dodge the knowledge. And go to Hell, Carolina.

h43, are you going to pull a fast one and head out on a mountain hike?

Tempting. I was thinking of skipping my ultimate frisbee game, but maybe I could go and do this. It won't last long. I'm a junior high teacher and all my students know I'm a duke fan/NC hater.

Twenty points? I'd break it to you, but you're at 26 years and counting at this point.

Although it'll still be daylight at tipoff, we're right at peak snowpack, and could even go higher.

That didn't take long :)

An NC State alumnus friend texted something right at the end of the game. He didn't give away the result, but coming from him I figured unc had lost. This morning I flipped on the teevee and tried to avoid news and sports channels but saw it on a ticker crawl.

In my defense, I literally go to school at UNC right now. I yelled at everyone I saw in class to not tell me the result. Someone did, as it turned out, but I thought they were messing with me because it was too unbelievable. Plus, this individual could very easily want to mess with me. I had hints throughout the day, but had reasonable doubts. For those who know statistics, I was basically taking a Bayesian approach and not changing my prior distribution. If I had life savings I would have bet them on UNC. So relieved more than anything.

A Duke friend told me at dinner. Better a Devil than a Heel. #GTHC
