I just wanted to let you know what a great young man you are getting in Frank. I was lucky enough to coach Frank in football his freshman year. He is a great young man from a great family. He will make the Duke program proud. Good luck the rest of the year.

Thank you for the shout-out. And welcome the DBR! Feel free to contribute here. I'm sure we would enjoy your commentary, not only on Frank, but other matters as well.

I thought some here might be interested in the article linked below. Frank's dad has been serving as a State Senator in the Utah legislature, but announced his resignation today because he is moving to Virginia to, among other reasons, catch more of Frank's games at Duke.

Father sounds like a man of character...no doubt a big part of why his son seems be the same.

We are very fortunate at Duke to appeal to young men (and no doubt young women) of high character--and to student athletes who prize learning and strong academic challenge rather than seek to avoid it.

Another good read about Frank (http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/17884944/duke-blue-devils-frank-jackson-chooses-serve-different-lds-mission-durham), this time from ESPN. About Frank, his faith, his fam, his friend.

His birth certificate name is Franklin, btw.

Loved his motor at the Virginia State game. He essentially never stopped moving.

There are apparently two (https://www.google.com/search?q=mormon+latter+day+saints+durham+NC&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=mormon%20latter%20day%20saints%20durham%20NC&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=36033591,-78932423,2411&tbm=lcl&tbs=lf_msr:-1,lf:1,lf_ui:3,lf_pqs:EAE&fll=36.02548759457838,-78.90480702598268&fspn=0.008139063467524466,0.018453673285279137&fz=16&oll=36.0335915,-78.93242304999998&ospn=0.010341978759612402,0.058794324589257485&oz=14&qop=1&rlfi=hd:;si:).

Frank is probably part of a Durham congregation (or "ward") that meets and worships in a Chapel Hill church (or "meetinghouse").

For example, this meetinghouse in Chapel Hill (https://www.lds.org/maps/meetinghouses/@35.942201,-79.057526,18&id=meetinghouse:5405513-01-01) serves 3 wards -- 2 from Chapel Hill, 1 from Durham. Frank could be part of the Durham ward.

It is also possible Frank is part of Durham's Young Single Adult Ward (https://www.lds.org/maps/meetinghouses/@35.909443,-79.038826,18&id=ward.ysa:202576), which also worships in a meetinghouse in Chapel Hill.

I assume it's the relative absence of opportunities to lobby the federal government, which seems to be his day job.

I believe he was referring to Frank attending an LDS church in Chapel Hill.

Nice to hear. Might Frank have time this weekend to play defensive back against Va Tech (shouldn't take more than three and a half hours, tops)?????

Chad Ford has an insider article up ranking point guards. He has Frank Jackson in the "role player" category. That would seem to push Jackson back to school for another year. I guess we should wait for some games to be played first, right?

Sounds like Dennis Smith will be fun to watch this season.
