We didn't mark the occasion, but this is the last episode number that corresponds to a retired jersey number. We now enter the murky realm of episodes numbered for walk-ons and absurdly large people, like Brian Zoubek.

Great podcast, as usual. I LOVED the trivia question at the end. I was at that game. A sophomore in the band sitting on the front row under the basket with an unimpeded view. They have so many people on the floor under the basket these days. I got to see some really amazing ACC players during my time. I graduated in 1983, so saw two national championship teams (82 and 83) come through, as well as our own elite 8 team in 80.

Interesting tidbit: we played 9 games against a Ralph Sampson led UVA team during my 4 years at Duke, and we lost every one of them. With all the great non-Duke players I got to see, MJ included, Sampson was by far the most exciting to watch.

Keep up the good work!

I think we beat Nc state 49-48 on Jan 20 1982 at CIS when they were ranked #14. I was there and it was awesome. We were 4-9 at the time and lost our previous game to #1 UNC and a freshman named MJ. Earlier in the season we lost to Louisville by 38 points, they were ranked 14th at game time.
