Who was Duke's Man of the Match in their 79-71 win over VCU tonight?

Thornton was appealing but in the end I went with Grayson Allen--impressive comeback after the debacle against Kentucky is a good sign.

Nice game by Derrick, but Grayson was the reason we won. Massive game from GA.

I had to go with DT - we're a totally different team with him running the point, IMHO.
Huge props to Grayson for a great bounce-back game.

Grayson, obviously. But I hope this game ends speculation that our point guard position will be done by committee or by anyone not named Derryck Thornton. We just have to realize that he's a freshman and will have some uneven games.

MOTM should go to Grayson.
Derryck had his coming out party, but the night still belonged to the man that scored 30 on 9-15 shooting with 4-8 behind the arc.

Grayson with 30 was by far the MOTM. Really happy with Derryck's game tonight.

I agree we are a much different/better team with Thornton running the point, but we are a much different team when Grayson plays the way he's played in 3 out of 4 games so far. We need both in the game for big minutes. I just hope Thornton stays out of foul trouble because I believe he's our best on the ball defender, especially guarding the opposing PG. Sorry Matt. GoDuke!

I'm thrilled to see the progress Derryck Thornton made and displayed in this game, and I hope it continues in that direction. I went with Grayson for a couple of reasons. Great bounce-back performace after a tough K-Y outing which resulted in a benching to start the VCU game. He shook off both issues to drop a new career high, and played with the resolve that became famous on the national stage of the championship game last year. It was very good to see.
Grayson Allen, not just because he scored 30, but also because he showed he is not a one-trick pony. Props to Derryck, though.

In Thornton's first career start, he hit a big 3 that cut the VCU lead in half, had a beautiful spin move, and weathered their Havoc D. He gets my vote.
Big step forward for our freshman point.
