For the first time since Morgan State shut down its program in 1981, there will be a HBCU playing d1 men's lax in 2016 (Howard and Delaware state have women's teams).

This is a fantastic thing for the sport, even if it potentially hurts Duke's recruiting down the road (call it the Myles Jones Effect if you want, but the top African-American players in the HS classes of 2016 and 2017 have verbally committed to Duke).

Under Coach Danowski, Duke has made a practice of scheduling home-and-home series with a number of newly-formed programs. It's a win-win for all concerned: the new programs get marquee home games to raise visibility on campus and in the community (for example, the two biggest home crowds in Marquette history are for its two games against Duke), and Duke gets less-than-competitive games where it can give playing time to the 25 guys outside the regular rotation who work their tails off every day in practice.

I really hope that we see a game at Hampton on our 2016 schedule when it comes out in December.
