Duke men’s basketball fans now have an incredible opportunity to be in the center of the action in Cameron Indoor Stadium during the upcoming season while bringing along friends and family for a thrill of a lifetime. The Duke Band Alumni Association (DBAA), the official alumni association of the Duke University Marching Band (D.U.M.B), today announced that registration is open for its inaugural Duke Band Guest Conductor Game Day Experiences.

The unique program is open to all fans and no prior conducting experience is necessary to participate. By joining the Duke Band in Cameron Indoor Stadium as a guest conductor, each game day experience includes three courtside seats for the conductor’s guests, a special courtside presentation, conductor coaching, a personalized conductor baton, band rugbies (uniforms) for the guest conductor and guests, four or more opportunities to conduct the band throughout the game, a photograph to commemorate the occasion, and a special place in history on the DBAA’s website, Facebook page and Twitter feed. Last season, to help celebrate the Duke Alumni Band’s 100th performance at the Meadowlands in New Jersey, former Duke men’s basketball player and ESPN college basketball analyst, Jay Bilas, served as a guest conductor to help test the concept.

All fans interested in the Duke Band Guest Conductor Game Day Experiences can register online now at https://dukebandconductor2015.splashthat.com. All Game Day Experiences have a specific donation requirement and are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis. The proceeds from the Duke Band Guest Conductor Game Day Experiences will go toward the Duke University Marching Band’s fundraising campaign. The DBAA recently launched a campaign to create a $2.5 million endowment to help strengthen the marching band program for Duke undergraduates and to enhance the band’s impact on the game day experience for fans at all Duke Athletics events.

“The DBAA's initiative to build an endowment for Duke Athletic Bands will be transformational for the Duke Band and its students,” said Jeff Au, Duke’s Athletic Bands director. “The success of this venture will help ensure a quality game day experience in perpetuity.”

“This is a unique opportunity for Duke fans to immerse themselves into the exciting game day atmosphere that D.U.M.B helps create in Cameron Indoor Stadium,” said Nick Superina and Mike Rosen, co-founders of the Duke Band Alumni Association. “By joining D.U.M.B as a guest conductor for a game and through their generous contributions, fans will have a huge and long-lasting impact on the marching band experience for Duke undergraduates and the game day atmosphere at all Duke Athletics events. One of the main goals of the DBAA is to create a strong financial foundation for the undergraduate band for the long-term and this is a tremendous win-win-win for the band, the University, and the fans.”

I scanned the six paragraphs above and did not find one of the most important scraps of information which is the cost and availability.

You can see it below, though I guess it will change as it books up.
