Admittedly, there are a handful of defensive players I did not watch this week, but given that, it seems well deserved. Congrats to Mr. Cash.

Once again, I take it upon mine own self to chime in on our Mr. Cash being, easily, a very handsome young man. Plus, one heck of a defender.

Congratulations to him!

I couldn't have been more impressed with Mr. Cash's play on Saturday! What a STUD...the guy was everywhere! He's 1st round material IMHO. His career has been a joy to follow, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!

The Football Writers Association of America named Cash their National Player of the Week - CONGRATS Jeremy!

Four things that really stood out to me in this:

What a monster individual performance
12 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, two caused fumbles and four QB pressures

What a monster team performance
Duke held Georgia Tech to 173 rushing yards – 204 below its season average (377.0), which ranked second nationally entering the week – while snapping the Yellow Jackets’ nation’s-best 17-game streak of consecutive outings with 200-plus rushing yards.

What a tremendous start to the season for Cash
Cash leads the Blue Devils in tackles (34), tackles for loss (8.0), sacks (1.5), caused fumbles (3) and QB pressures (6)

AND for the Duke Defense which is a very pleasant surprise
Duke ranks seventh nationally in scoring defense (11.5) and 10th nationally in total defense by surrendering 261.0 yards per week.

And, to use a Yogi-ism of my own design: "You can't see it in person if you aren't there." Jeremy Cash turns in this kind of performance with some regularity. The team defense is something we haven't seen in a long while. We have guys flying to the ball.

Or, as Yogi himself was paid to say, "They give you Cash which is just as good as money;)."

Love that one! How about a Moss-ism, and one of my favorite sports sound bytes. When asked how he was going to pay his most recent fine, his reply was - "Straight Cash homie!"
