Duke's Shannon Rowbury broke the 32-year old U.S. record in the 1500m today, running 3:56.29. Genzebebe Dibaba of Ethiopia won the race in a new world record time of 3:50.07.

Everyone was fast in Monaco, on both the men's and women's sides. Dibaba is running on a different level, though. I had a chance to watch her in Eugene earlier this year and she basically pushed the rabbit out of her way on her way to a Hayward course record.
Rowbury looks to be shaping up well for the Worlds next month.

3:50.07 is otherworldly. I honestly thought the old record, set under extremely suspicious circumstances, would not be beaten in my lifetime (I'm 31).
ETA: To clarify, the record I am talking about here is the world record.
