No basketball representation, but a few athletes in other sports.

Rebecca Quinn and Canada hope to win at least one tournament on home soil. Their opening game against Ecuador will be on ESPN3 Saturday at 9:00pm EDT.

Saw twelve seconds of the interpretive dance opening ceremony. After feeling a tad bit uneasy at the weirdness (a train trip to the future with suitcases?) I switched over to watch the Tigers collapse.

Stefanie Fee came on as a substitute as the United States beat Uruguay 5-0. Lauren Blazing did not get involved and probably should not expect to do so as the backup goalie.

Isabella Paez is supposed to swim in the 200m Butterfly. Heats are scheduled for 10:29 EDT and finals at 7:39pm EDT. Both should be live on ESPN3 with delayed listings currently on Longhorn Network as well.

Isabella Paez finished 4th in her heat of the 100m Butterfly, which only qualified her for the B final. She did win the B final, so it was a nice recovery.

Isabella Paez swam the Butterfly leg for the medley relay. Venezuela finished 6th out of 8th in the prelims and 6th out of 8th in the finals which makes one wonder why they needed to have both.

Rebecca Quinn and Canada can be seen on ESPN3 tomorrow against Brazil at 8:25pm EDT.
