At the Town Hall in Raleigh:

"We're sitting with the man who could have coached the Lakers and the Celtics," WRAL's Jeff Gravley, the host for the evening's events, said.

"Well, not such a great opportunity now," Krzyzewski shot back, poking fun at the Lakers recent struggles.

Wow. That was a hit below the belt. Groin injuries can worsen if not evaluated; the Lakers GM might consider a cup check.

Oh, and as great as K is, even he would have a hard time coaching the Lakers AND the Celtics. Sure, he could handle it when they played each other, but what about the other 80 games, in separate arenas in separate cities? He would have to telecommute, and he doesn't do Skype.

Why not? He could use SportVu and coach every team in the league simultaneously from his living room. SportVu is already installed in every NBA arena. No need for opposing coaches. He'd be in charge of both teams. Think of the money the NBA will save on coaching salaries. He could even serve as the referees.

I concede he might have to be able to stay up late due to time zone issues, but a late morning nap should help.

I consider the Laker's GM to be a Kupchak.

Go to the head of the class for being so quick to get brevity's intentional pun.
