I'm sure Jason addressed this but when are we starting the voting for summer? Fast 7 is opening next weekend but I recall some controversy about including Winter Soldier in the Summer poll.

Good observation! Jason started last year's thread on March 20, but to be honest I think Mercer had a lot to do with that.

Here are some contenders, April included, but I'm fine with starting May 1. Here are some reasons:

1. Let's have the NCAA Tournament play out with no distractions.
2. The third biggest release of April stars Blake Lively (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1655441/).
3. There are enough contenders if we stick to the standard timeframe of early May to mid-August.

Furious 7 (April 3)
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (April 17)
Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1)
Before I Wake (May 8)
Hot Pursuit (May 8)
Mad Max: Fury Road (May 15)
Pitch Perfect 2 (May 15)
Poltergeist (May 22)
Tomorrowland (May 22)
Aloha (May 29)
San Andreas (May 29)
Entourage (June 5)
Insidious: Chapter 3 (June 5)
Spy (June 5)
B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations (June 5)
Jurassic World (June 12)
Inside Out (June 19)
The Transporter Refueled (June 19)
Ted 2 (June 26)
Magic Mike XXL (July 1 - Wednesday)
Terminator Genisys (July 1 - Wednesday)
Minions (July 10)
Ant-Man (July 17)
Trainwreck (July 17)
Pan (July 24)
Pixels (July 24)
Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation (July 31)
Fantastic Four (August 7)
Masterminds (August 7)
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (August 14)
Straight Outta Compton (August 14)

Release dates are pretty fluid, but Box Office Mojo (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/schedule/) tends to stay on top of them.

I see Dwayne Johnson is in another disaster film: San Andreas. He had Hercules last year.

There was some controversy about including Cap 2 last year. April is not the summer... no way. So, we won't be starting until late April and the poll will only include films released in May, June, July, and August. More details as we get closer.

-Jason "Avengers on May 1 is probably gonna be a contender, huh?" Evans

This means I can't vote for Paul Blart!

Unfair!

Not as unfair as the world being subjected to more Kevin James, but unfair nonetheless. 😂

We know Fast 7 is going to make $500M and win the Oscar since that is what Vin said.

Including Captain last year was a mistake. As JE said, April is not the summer.

So I agree with not including F&F7. If we did include it, I think it would be an absolute lock for the Top 5.....but again, I'm glad we are not.

Looking forward to this annual rite of getting 3 out of the 5.

All that said, Avengers 2 is a 100% lock. I think three of the films coming out are locks. But it's those last two that always trip me up......

Since Furious 7 made a kazillion dollars and if we had started the contest prior to its release it would have made our top 5. Does this make picking four after Age of Ultron more difficult?
