I like Luke Winn's power rankings mostly because mixed in among some of the cheesier Turnover Meters or "Whose Shoe is This?" graphic quiz are some really awesome breakdowns of individual teams and players. This week I really liked his section on Jah's ability to absorb new post moves. Numerous people commented on the drive he had against SDSU where he took his defender outside and drove in, and it factors into the analysis.

I thought this article was great. I really like SI's format and use of gifs that only load when you hover over them. Seeing Okafor's moves compared to his influences was great.

However, more than I enjoyed that article was an article in the sidebar: Ranking the Sweet 16 mascots! http://www.si.com/college-basketball/photos/2015/03/25/ranking-mascots-sweet-16/1

I enjoy any list that has UK in last place this year.

Only gripe... he makes actual analysis on every team but Wichita St. There, he just shows pictures of coaches who wear pinstripes.

One thing that impressed me on that play was how low Okafor keeps his dribble. You don't see many centers have that instinct.

Thanks for the link! Great read.

Besides learning how Jah acquired his great footwork, I enjoyed the SportVu mention, the tidbit about Capel helping Jah develop the Duncan bank shot, and the expansion of the postup table that Winn had previously given us over a 4-year period instead of the 9-year period shown here. I loved that Harangody was the high-major player given the most postups over the past 9 years despite averaging just 0.78 ppp. (He was a good player from what I remember but apparently not good at posting up).

Shoutout to my hometown gym! I went to summer camp at the Y in Chesterton, Indiana and was later a camp counselor there after my freshman year at Duke. Sadly, I never learned the footwork to be as good in the post as Jahlil Okafor. Also, he's got 11 inches and 90 pounds on me.
