We recorded a podcast late last night. We looked all around the brackets at Duke and the ACC.

We were joined this week by special guest Shane Roberts, who is a contributor to Block U, the Utah SBN site. He gave us a good rundown of the Utes.

I'm not done with it yet (about 15 minutes to go), but two things already cracked me up:

-Jason ingratiating himself with Shane Roberts of Block U by, basically right off the bat, asking him if Utah is scared to play Duke.

-Cameron barking when Jason mentioned Utah's depth...I wonder if Cameron's dog sense is trying to tell us that their depth will be a factor or their depth will be over-rated? I never doubt that Cameron chooses to make himself heard when key issues are being discussed.

I'm only 45 minutes from The Annapolis...it's getting nice outside. Some Maryland crabs at Cantler's sounds a-okay with me before a trip to The Indiana.

The question basically escaped my lips and I realized it came off wrong. I had meant to sorta ask how excited they were and if it was a big deal to play a team with a big national reputation like Duke... but I used the word scared which was probably not ideal.

He was a nice guy and answered well. I'm so impressed he had the guts to admit that while he is pulling for his Utes, he is picking Duke to win. I'm not sure many of us could be so honest. For example, how many Duke fans would pick Kentucky to win a head-to-head matchup with our Devils? I sure wouldn't though my head says Kentucky is probably the better team.

-Jason "thanks for being a Podcast fan Billy Dat!" Evans

You guys also taught me something new, which is always cool.

I think it was Sam who explained the concept of a "zero/zero" which is when a player records at least one point, rebound, steal, assist and block - basically checking ever basic statistical box, using the stat to support praise around Justise's performance against SDSU.

That was Donald, the fellow with the slight Midwestern accent.

I still don't have you two differentiated based on voice and style. Jason is easier because of his basso profondo. Maybe you each need to develop a catch-phrase?

I was going to, but as you have pointed out, "WHAMMY!" was taken. :)

I'm the ugly one.

I'm the ugly one.

Is that going to be your catch phrase? I'm not sure you will find it easy to inject that into conversation all that much.

"Sam, who is your pick for Player of the Week?"
"Well Jason, Seeing as I'm the ugly one, I went with the player with the prettiest performance this week..."

-Jason "I think you are better off saying WHAMMY! as much as possible, but if you want to announce your ugliness all the time, feel free" Evans

I was just trying to help distinguish me from Donald. I realize that this method will only work if this podcast series becomes a video production.

I'll work on my catch phrase.

I knew that. Apparently the fact that I have a basso profondo does not also mean that I have a sense of humor. I was trying (and apparently failing) to make a joke. Oh well. I may not be funny, but my voice is distinctive ;)

As a way of saying thanks to the guys from Utah's site BlockU.com, I agreed to be a guest commentator on their podcast this week, to give them a preview of what Duke is like. They also asked me a few questions I wasn't exactly prepared for. If you enjoy my basso profondo, you may find it interesting to listen.

You can hear it here (https://cdn3.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/3537828/TheUFanCast_2015-03-25.0.mp3). My interview begins just a couple seconds before the 19:00 mark.

-Jason "I'll be interested in hearing how folks here feel about my answer (at the 26:00 mark) to the question about Duke and 1-and-done players" Evans
