I am in the midst of a brain cramp that often affects people of a certain age. I am trying to remember the name of a kid who came to Duke with all sorts of advance publicity and then failed to live up to what was expected of him. I realize that there are more than one who meet this profile. The things I remember about him were that he was expected to go to Brigham Young before he committed to Duke. Apparently there was a meddling father involved who wasn't adverse to speaking his mind. He didn't last at Duke very long, maybe just one season, at the most two. I believe he hailed from California.
The rumor mill after he left was that the disappointment associated with this guy was to blame for Coach K not recruiting Kevin Love of whom it was said also had a meddling father.
