I have literally had nightmares about my first alma mater meeting up with my second alma mater, and what I would do if that ever happened. (I played in the band at both schools many moons ago). But I am really hoping my nightmare comes true and that I get to watch SMU and Duke battle for a trip to the Final Four. After years in the NCAA desert, my Ponies are back in the dance and looking to be this year's Cinderella. Why not us?
I'm rooting for Duke too, of course, unless and until they meet my Mustangs. But if my dream/nightmare matchup happens, and the Mustangs were to lose, it would be the best silver lining ever. There's no one else that I'd rather see beat the Mustangs for a trip to the Final Four.
Strange that my totally homer bracket will have a non-Duke team winning for the first time in 20 years.
