First Jerome Kersey in his early 50's, now Mase at 48. Very sad news.

Local Queens kid...brought heart and toughness to the Knicks. Could use some of those qualities on the team today.
RIP, Anthony.

This is a shame. One thing I'll remember out Mason is that he was one of the first really muscular guys who also had an excellent handle. I think he was influential in the move towards big men developing more guard skills.

If these things happen in threes, I'm picturing Jerome Kersey and Anthony Mason hooping it up with Leonard Nimoy.
I was not a big Patrick Ewing or Knicks fan, but came around a little because of Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason. I suppose some of that has carried over to Duke fandom, where I fixate on the unsung bruisers and rebounders. Which is a lonely place to be, for me and for them.
