Mr. Connette here, still following Duke Football as I am entrenched in the Duke family.

Sadly Nancy is currently in hospice care, we have been winning the battles (all 4 growths have been reduced dramatically or gone) BUT we are losing the war. The cancer cells have spread throughout her body and in particular her brain, nervous system, and bones where it has taken its toll.

In two weeks Nancy and I will be in Charlotte 3/5 - 3/8 at the Browns home (Kelby's parents), who have been more than family for us during this time, where friends and family will be coming by to see Nancy. Then we will be traveling to Charleston SC where Nancys dad lives and who has his own physical challenges and is not able to travel to Ca to see Nancy.

My family and I thank Duke nation for all your prayers and Nancy has said repeatedly that Jesus is right by her side and she looks forward to being with him in paradise. Coach Cut has been there for Brandon and our family like he was when he came to visit us 5 years ago. He truly is much more than a coach for these boys and I thank the Lord for him and Duke football every day.

Brandon is doing well and started a job last week with ESPN in Fresno working in the marketing and accounts dept. He absolutely loves it and I am looking forward to him climbing the ladder withing the ESPN network.

Very sad. Been there with both parents and it is no fun. My prayers go out to Brandon, his dad, and their family. I hope they can keep his mom as comfortable as possible. God Bless them for what they are going through.

As a fan, I was upset to see BC leave. As a person, I am ecstatic he left to be closer to his mother/family. The first "F" in Cut's 4 Fs of football is family. Brandon's brother Adam posted on Twitter that their mom passed away last night.


Last night Heaven gained another Angel. My mom is no longer in pain she is at peace. I love you mom and miss you very much ❤️
