Who was Man of the Match in Duke's 92-90 OT win over North Carolina?

How can there be any question...Tyus put the team on his back to get us into overtime.

I will choose Tyus f$&)(;n Jones

I'm glad it is unanimous. I was gonna have to go all Captain Insano on somebody if not!

Easy. Absolutely Cook. The defense all game long. The shooting. The fact that at no point was he absolutely terrible during the game - which very much sets him apart from all the other choices.

What a beautiful job by Cook on D but Tyus . . . clutch.

The vote is for Tyus Jones, but anyone in chat knows that stillcrazie deserves it too. stillcrazie stayed positive in a wave of negativity, sacrificed by leaving the chat, and proved everyone wrong. It was amazing.

I'm going straight to the postgame thread and sporking the h#$% out of stillcrazie's comment (http://forums.dukebasketballreport.com/forums/showthread.php?35309-MBB-Duke-92-UNC-90-(OT)-Post-Game-Thread&p=780864#post780864). Everyone should do the same.

I love to choose a lesser known but important contributor...so I'm usually in the minority, but I had to pick Tyus tonight.

How many points did preseason all American candidate Marcus Paige score? Five. Cook was phenomenal.

that said, I still voted for Tyus.

Quinn Cook shut Marcus Paige down. Obviously if Paige scores 10 points then it is considered a down game and we lose. Quinn was perfect on defense.

I think it boils down to 3 guys: Tyus who was clutch and led the team, Cook for his shutdown defense on their best player and the most consistent offense, and lastly Justise who in the waning minutes became more aggressive and kicked into another gear

No quit for Tyus....MOTM! Lots of other props, but shout out to Cook for staying with Paige and holding him to 5 points. Good win, hated to see us down to Carolina, but very happy to see Duke fight back.

I voted for Winslow. He was solid start to finish no withstanding foul trouble in the first half. Tyus was money at the end but shaky for 3/4ths of regulation.

Echoing others here--I voted for Tyus who was huge on offense toward the end. But Quinn deserves a major shoutout for the tremendous lockdown defense on Paige and the solid shooting.

Cook. He played a complete game on both halves of the floor. Absolutely shutdown D on an all-american AND score 22 points? Slightly better shooting %'s than Tyus.

Tyus had the edge on rebounding and assists, though. They really both deserve it.

I'm going with QC for this line:

2-11 1-3 0-0 0 5 5 3 0 0 2 2 5

Plus, his own line:

45 7-15 6-9 2-4 1 3 4 3 0 0 3 3 22

Tyus played a great game but QC shut down Paige.

Exactly. Everyone should remember how crappy our defense looked in that NC State-Miami stretch. Cook had one of the best defensive games of any of our guys this season.

Depending on how much you weigh the "clutch factor" (and I suppose you have to believe that such a thing exists in the first place), you could argue that Tyus Jones is our best player.

Yep. Don't think he made him cry like Billy King (reportedly) did to Mark Macon but that's a helluva show by a player much maligned for his lack of D. Damn proud/happy with QC's huge game tonight.

I refuse to even countenance the notion that "clutch" doesn't exist, and I agree that Tyus is the man for this team when the situation really calls for it.

Cook gets the nod for me because of his defense. Tyus Jones was huge down the stretch but his turnovers really hurt us so it was hard for me to go with him, could have considered going with Jah too for playing tough through the injury late in the game.

Also, did Amile really have 6 blocks? Wow.

Votes say Tyus but thread says QC. I'm torn. I voted for Tyus but damn - that defense on Paige was invasive. Watching post-game it's so rad to see the senior defer the accolades to the frosh. Quinn is such a huggable person.

I went back and forth on this one but I finally went with Tyus. I agree with the comments at the end of the game by ?? Something like "He doesn't know he is a freshman. " I loved Cook's play. Solid every game... quote of the game for me "Quinn Cook might drive him home after the game, he has not left him all night long." I believe it was Dan Shulman on Quinn shutting down Paige this game. Love to the whole team for sending the cheaters home as losers tonight.

Agreed with Tyus and Quinn as a unit. With all the love for the Tyus Stones nickname, I'm surprised that no one has dubbed our stellar Cook-Jones backcourt CoJones

Seems appropriate ;)

I went with Cook - for his defense, his leadership, and for dribbling on his stomach during OT. :D

I have to give Watch ESPN some love - I set my DVR for the usual 30 minutes past the scheduled end time of the game. It ended with 1:54 left in OT. Fortunately, I could start at that point online and watch it to the end.

If Tyus hadn't made so many incredibly poor turnovers in the first half Duke would have been able to expand its 13 pt lead, and his heroics at the end would not have been necessary. Quinn got my vote.

I voted for Tyus for his late game play, but I love it when there are 4 or 5 guys that could be MOTM. Tonight all the starters could have gotten my vote. Tyus see above, Quinn solid on offense and defense. Best defensive job by him ever. Jahlil for telling Coach K he wanted back in after the ankle injury, Amile for his determined play, wow 6 blocks and we needed everyone of them and Justise for really coming through at the end of the game. Matter of fact, he played well throughout. Great team victory. GoDuke!

JWill was the last of that ilk who would do It consistently. Tyus Stones just refuses to lose.

I thought the very same thing after the game. J-Will and Tyus remind me of each other. Both hate to lose and I love that about these two. GoDuke!

I am going to say this and it may be laughed at or some may yell at me. But, Tyus Jones is well on his way to being the best Point Guard we have ever had at Duke. Depending on the finish this season and if he stays next year we could be looking a the next jersey in the rafters. His feel for the big game is Christianesque, hopefully his post season results will be similar as well. I have a huge man crush on this guy and "As our freshman PG goes so this team goes" I think he is capable of carrying this team on his back all the way through march.

I can't think of another player in the country I would rather be reliant on in the last few minutes of a game.

Gotta give Tyus, Quinn, and Amile credit, they all played well above what I expected of them im a tough game like this.

However, my vote went to Justise for his defining plays of the overtime period. First off, fouling out Brice Johnson was a brilliant move and thats what set us up for the capacity to definitely win. Then the tipping of the ball in the air on the last play saved us from 2OT on a Paige lay-in.

Cook was the MVP in the first half, Tyus in the second half. The 3 pointer that Tyus hit when we were down by 10 pts was huge, started us on the way back.

Cook was phenominal. His 1st half barrage of 3s and his defense all game long were outstanding. That said, my MOTM vote goes to Tyus "the effin man" Jones. As a freshman, in his FIRST rivalry game - he put the team on his back coming down the stretch and is a big reason all Duke fans are smiling this morning as we mull over the topic.

Quinn held pre-season 1st team All-American and ACC POY to 5 points.

I gave my vote to Tyus! But wanted to give a split vote to Tyus and Quinn. Quinn served as the captain and leader and provided defense and scoring all game! Tyus was obviously huge in the 2nd and Overtime!

The game was just Crazy..... Insanely Crazy!!!

A Battle of the Blues Classic..... Feb 18, 2015 ! IT was unbelievable! And both teams played their hearts out!

Props to the whole team, for playing with heart and passion, and Big Jah for playing with an ankle sprain!!!

Go Duke!

The F.I.S.T. I could not vote for just one.

No vote from here. It was a total team effort. Too many 'What if's' questions, especially in an overtime game, to just name one player. This can be looked at either from a positive viewpoint or a negative one.
Wif? The defense on Paige weren't as good
Wif? Duke had hit at least 75% at the line
Wif? Zebras had not called a foul for Winslow's beautiful shot-block,in OT, or the bogus goal-tending call went unwhistled
Wif? There hadn't been so many missed, point-blank lay ups
Wif? I could go on, but what's the point? (Wtp) The best team won.
