Former Clemson Tiger Chris Hobbs passed away

I missed this and didn't see it posted. I met him a couple of times several years after his basketball career. He was such a nice guy with a big smile.

I got to know Chris a bit at Duke Sports Medicine. We were both rehabbing our knee after surgery. He was still playing for Clemson. After he graduated I would run into him on occasion in Durham. The last I saw him was a couple of years ago. He was waiting tables at Magianno's. I have a feeling that things didn't turn out for him quite the way he had hoped.

I didn't look up the stats, my memory of Chris is he competed hard against Duke with class and a megawatt smile.

I figured he'd have a pro career at some level.

Rest in peace, Chris. I enjoyed watching you play.
