Not sure which forum gets this, but Duke Law School prof and noted Constitutional scholar Erwin Chemerinsky is leaving to become the Dean of the new law school at UC Irvine.

First Chemerinsky got job then the offer was rescinded, now he has it again.

I saw him on a recent set up of a retrial of the Dred Scott case before a mock up Supreme court, using a current justice and 8 others taken from appellate courts. He presented himself well. Broadcast on C-Span, I think it was rebroadcast not long ago.

He wrote every Constitutional Law book that I used in law school...truly a legend on the law school level. UC-Irvine's getting a great one to be their Dean.

My daughter (Duke '01 and USC Law '04) had the wonderful experience of having Chemerinsky as her professor for several classes and as her mentor-advisor-job reference. He is the class act of the law profession.

He is one of the great legal minds on the planet. In our household there is nothing one can say except kudos about what this man can do, has accomplished, and what the future brings. He's a treasure to LAW in our country and beyond.

I don't think I'd take the position after UC-I demonstrated its dysfunction so clearly.
