Wisconsin just beat Iowa 82-50. Not everyone has a favorite basketball score, but 82-50 is mine.

Apologies to 104-103 and 61-59.

I like 71-51, primarily because at half it was 30-31.

Should I be concerned I that I recognized all these scores? That's OK right?

Do we need a halftime score thread? 7-0 stands alone, so I guess not.

Totally Fine. I recognize them all and I have been a fan since 1990 too. In fact this Saturday is the 25th anniversary of my fandom (if I had to pinpoint a date).

I like 34-2, which I believe was the score at one point when we beat Michigan back in the early 2000's, maybe even 1999. Never seen anything like that since.

I had the same thought. Proud, yet concerned that this is what I use my brain for.

I think if you wrote 47-40 most of us would recognize the game, including 7-0!

That was the game in which Laettner was completely gassed and had 5-6 TO in the first half. During halftime, K realized the mantle of leadership had been passed to Hurley and T. Hill when (IIRC) Hurley told Christian that if he wasn't going to contribute anything good in the 2nd half he could keep his @#$ in the @#$%ing locker room (paraphrasing, of course:o). K called a play for Hurley and Laettner to start the 2nd half which resulted in a turnover for Duke (Laettner's fault I think) and Christian looked at K and said "I got it" or something like that and K knew he'd be OK. He took Laettner out 30-60 seconds before each TV TO if he was able so he could rest for 2-3 minutes and then put him back in a bit fresher. Worked pretty well;).

It was my recollection that the UM players danced on the midcourt logo during the player intros which may have generated some ill will.

Yup. The first half was perhaps the worst performance of Laettner's college career, certainly his senior year. Hurley (who took the brunt of Christian's, um, "motivational style" for four years) returned full volley on Laettner in the locker room at half time.

Beginning of the second half, after the turnover dd referenced, we get the ball in the open floor. Hurley drives the lane, flips it over his left shoulder to the trailing Laettner, who gets an easy lay-in down the lane. Christian then took over.

Down by one at half, won by twenty.

It stayed a close game well into the second half. We were only up by three (48-45) with seven or eight minutes left -- then we blitzed Michigan with a 23-6 dunkfest the rest of the way.

December 10, 2000. Same game as the "Little Duhon/Little Boozer/Little Point Guard" chant directed at Michigan's 5'7" point guard Avery Queen.

Actually... December 9, 2000. This was a Saturday night game. My son was born the following Monday morning on 12/11

I was at that game...we went from "more than double!" to "more than triple!"....to "more than octuple!" ...then we settled at "more than 10 times" and finally we started cheering for Michigan to score.

Kind of hard to overlook 40-12 as a great score.
I really like the memories associated with the other scores that have been posted, but the memory of Coach Roy and Hanstravel staring up at the scoreboard that showed uncch down 40-12 to Kansas in the 2008 semifinal is mighty sweet too.
And the fact that uncch staged two impressive comebacks in the game - and still lost - also adds to the pleasure.

And people say we're not good sports at Duke...the nerve of them!
