FWIW Wiki lists him as 442-58 (.884) although not sure how updated that is and/or what it counts in the 1995 season. And of course it is Wikipedia.

Not what you're asking, but ESPN reporting 1st time since 1983 K has lost back to back ACC games by more than 12 points. Think about that. On one hand, incredible excellence for 31 years, followed by total collapse against average ACC teams.

Check it out here:

Add up the everything in the Home column from 1980-81 onward except for the 1994-95 season. Add back in Coach K's 6-1 at Cameron that season to get the final record. (Looks like statsgeek has through the BC game this year).

I did it for you: 467-59 (including the Miami game) for a ridiculous .890 winning pct.

True, though in 1989 we had a three-game ACC losing streak in which we had a four-point loss to Wake Forest sandwiched between a 20-point loss to UNC (in Cameron, no less) and a 15-point loss to N.C. State. And that Duke team made the Final Four. (Not saying this Duke team's a lock to do the same -- just saying it's a long season and there's still lots of ball to be played.)

The amazing thing about that stat from ESPN is that it's true even if you include all the games from the 1994-95 Season From Hell. Almost all of our conference losses that year were by single-digit margins.

I think the season's too young to call Miami or NCSU "average," just as it's too early to call Duke "elite" or a "flop" in the ACC.

Miami is very talented and has a great coach.
