The photo cutline in the linked article (http://www.heraldsun.com/sports/duke/39-881428.cfm) says the guy on the left is Ifreke Okpokowuruk and the guy on the right is Rodney Ezzard. Ezzard is African-American, so I know that is wrong. But isn't Ifreke's number 92? The player shown seems to be wearing either 32 or 82. 32 is Cameron Jones and 82 is Ryan Wood, who is white.

So aren't the proper IDs, Cameron Jones and Mitchell Lederman, who is 67?

I'm going by GoDuke's roster numbers and photos and I haven't yet seen the team on TV so I have no direct information.

If the Herald-Sun can't be bothered by getting the players' IDs right, what are they doing at the game?

The player on the left is Ifreke, regardless of the uniform number. Can't speak to the player on the right.

Ifreke Okpokowuruk

Rodney Ezzard's (http://www.goduke.com//share/ViewPhoto.dbml?ATCLPID=&ATCLID=157334&DB_MENU_ID=&SPSID=22667&SPID=1843&IN_SUBSCRIBER_CONTENT=&DB_OEM_ID=4200&LOAD_IMAGE_ID=635574&LOAD_IMAGE_SIZE=400) Weight is listed as 180 so i don't think that is him.

#67 is Mitchell Lederman (http://www.goduke.com//share/ViewPhoto.dbml?ATCLPID=&ATCLID=319267&DB_MENU_ID=&SPSID=22667&SPID=1843&IN_SUBSCRIBER_CONTENT=&DB_OEM_ID=4200&LOAD_IMAGE_ID=635681&LOAD_IMAGE_SIZE=400)

BTW, the N&O had the same picture (http://www.newsobserver.com/859/v-pop_gallery/gallery/706412-a706410-t4.html) but identified them as "Duke's Ifreke Okpokowuruk, center, and Mitchell Lederman"

Wait, Mitchell Lederman is 6-7? Hmmm, you know, if Mitch is looking for an activity to help keep him in shape over the winter months...

Actually, Lederman is listed at 6-8 and played HS basketball. Wesley Oglesby is 6-6 and was a first team all-state basketball player. Jon Needham at 6-7, Robert Drum, Cameron Goldberg, Kyle Hill, Jarrod Holt, (all at 6-6) all played HS basketball.

Toss in Ben Loebner (6-9) and Fred Roland (6-8) who didn't HS hoops but are both big guys and you have to ask the question of if Duke's football team has better depth in the frontcourt than their basketball team.

The photo is lifted from AP. Herald-Sun did not send a photo to the game and just used AP photos. AP mis-identified the players and H-S did not double-check, I guess.

the N&O does a lot of things wrong...but they took the time to correct it.

I bet Lederman's parents will notice.

I'm in full agreement. I'd love to have one of these 300-pound guys available to bang on Zoubek in practice and maybe get into a game now and then. Seems like an opportunity a football player wouldn't want to turn down, except that there is that little detail about trying to graduate on time and all that.

GG had the women's team scrimmage against FB players.

I realize the paper as become a major rag, but I suspect it was an honest, although careless, mistake.
