The Coastal Division race is over but there are still important conference games today:

Virginia Tech at Wake Forest - I'll be watching this one to gain a feel for the Demon Deacons. They are a lot better now than they were in September.
Syracuse at Pittsburgh - Pitt is playing for bowl eligibility. They need to win today and next week at Miami. I don't see it.
Boston College at Florida State - the Seminoles could use an impressive outing.
Georgia State at Clemson - this is an opportunity for Cole Stoudt to figure out how to play quarterback.
Louisville at Notre Dame - two teams Duke will be competing with for a better bowl game. I like the Cardinals.
Miami at Virginia - can the 'Canes put another nail in Mike London's coffin?

VPI is who we thought they were. And we let them off the hook.

You are 100 percent correct. I'm more upset with the VPI loss than the Carolina loss. Carolina came out and whipped our butts, while we allowed VPI to escape.

Wake-VPI is the first FBS game this season to be 0-0 after three quarters.

Still scoreless with less than 12 minutes to play.

More upset with something other than a loss to uncch. I thought we tried to limit the crazy talk on the dbr boards.

As much as I like Anthony Boone, I have to say QB play was terrible in both games and key in both losses. But QB play alone did not lose either game. I hope Boone has a great two games ending a nice career. GoDuke!

wake misses FG to win at the end of regulation. Not by much. Wow.

0-0 into overtime as Weaver misses a 37-yard FG at the gun,

first FBS to be scoreless into OT in nine years.

Weaver missed three kicks earlier -- one of them erased by a VPI penalty. So officially he's 0-3 ... in reality he's 0-4.

I suspect that Duke is getting everybody's A game this year.... we'll see if Wake can maintain any sort of momentum from this single conference win.

VT's got to beat UVA to become bowl eligible. That game may be the desperation bowl.

I just got home from BB&T Field. We left at the end of regulation; I can only handle so much ineptitude, and reached my limit. The Wake D was solid, but those offenses were turrrruble.

The uncch ineptitude of 2002 is something I could watch everyday the rest of my life. My one fear is that the no class punishment could wipe that 8-20 off the books. So ineptitude can be a good thing:)

You know how we lost at home to VT?

Yeah, well, we lost at home to a bad team. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I know I should be rooting for the chance of anothwr ACC national championship in football, but goodness I would love to see that entitled POS Winston and FSU lose this game to BC.

Please?

Anyone else turning this on? BC really pushing FSU. Do others here hope for an FSU loss? Or does ACC pride trump whatever else?

I was pulling for FSU all the way. Why?

(1) ACC Pride (we still don't get the respect we deserve)

(2) Self interest. A BC win would have knocked us down TWO places in the bowl pecking order (FSU drops to an ACC bowl and BC jumps us).

Go 'Noles!

PS Notre Dame just missed a chip shot FG to tie Louisville in the closing minute. That helps us too ... if Notre Dame loses to SC next week, the one-win rule means we have to go ahead of ND.

I love the walrus tears over nd losing to looville. As if the irish is preordained. Sports media stinks on ice.

ND is now 7-4, if they lose to USC they can't bump us in a bowl if we can beat Wake.

Virginia receiver just made an absolutely amazing one hand grab for a touchdown: Virginia 10, Miami 7.
