"Notre Dame’s Patrick Hodan, Duke’s Sean Davis, and Syracuse’s Alex Bono highlight the 2014 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Teams, announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
Hodan was voted as the ACC Offensive Player of the Year, Davis as the ACC Midfielder of the Year, and Bono as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players. Louisville’s Tim Kubel received ACC Freshman of the Year honors, while Syracuses’s Ian McIntyre was voted Coach of the Year.
A senior captain from Holmdel, New Jersey, Davis was the key playmaker for the Duke offense. He ranks fifth nationally in assists per game (0.63) and total assists (10), which is three more than he had in his previous three seasons combined. Davis’s lone goal of the season came on a 75th-minute free kick against No. 1 North Carolina to tie the game before he assisted on a late game winner."
