Wow. Grant just gave 1.25M to Duke (http://www.newsobserver.com/2014/07/30/4039179/grant-hill-gives-125-million-to.html?sp=/99/103/119/). What a guy.

“Tamia and I are in a fortunate position to be able give back to the university that did so much for me," said Hill, referencing his wife. "In the 20 years since my graduation, I am certain that the academic environment, the coaches and staff, and every facet of being a student at Duke contributed to make me a better person.

“We want to help Duke students pursue their dreams in all endeavors and hope that our donation can make it possible for future students to enjoy the same kind of experiences I did at Duke,” Hill said. “We are proud to be a part of the Duke family.”

Well, Christian DID donate $2M (with Brian Davis) to Duke athletics in 2005:

Then again, Hill gave $1 million to Duke athletics in 2000. (http://today.duke.edu/2000/09/grant929.html) I guess the thread title should read "Grant Gives Another $1.25M."

Well, Laettner hasn't had the financial fortunes of Grant, either, both due to his playing days and business issues (http://deadspin.com/5891960/is-there-anyone-whos-not-suing-christian-laettner-and-brian-davis).

For instance, Grant Hill (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hillgr01.html)made around $142,854,650 salary in his NBA career, not counting endorsements/bonuses.

Laettner (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/laettch01.html)made $61,485,000.

Either way, good on both of them to give back.

Generous spirits and in their support. More reason for us all to be proud of them.
