I hope she's ready. With only three recruited guards on the roster (including Becca) we're going to need her.

It's a little surprising, based on the linked story, that they didn't decide to burn her redshirt last year after Alexis Jones was injured, since she was practicing with the team most of the season. But since she has had a long history of knee injuries it's probably just as well they gave her the full year--and of course that would have been a very short season to use a year of eligibility on.

I also hope she is ready--and even more importantly, I hope she and Jones can stay healthy through the season. Last year's early exit from the NCAA tournament showed pretty clearly how hard it is to compete against good teams without a real point guard.

There's been criticism of the team's "strength" conditioning methods, especially in light of the rash of leg/knee injuries. I wonder if this "old school" approach will change things (or, more accurately, stop some of the criticism. Probably not.)

Regarding Coach Brown, when I observe him on the court during pregame, he seems so aloof and separate from the team. However almost every player on the team since he arrived praises (almost worships) his mentoring. I'll trust their comments over my observation anytime.

However, I think he's toned down his sweaters the past couple of seasons. THAT, I'll criticize. :p
