There were a couple of articles on Rasheed in NC papers yesterday:

The FO article included a little tidbit that I didn't know until today: that Rasheed has asthma.

To have success, Sulaimon must also stay in good shape.

He acknowledges a love-hate relationship with conditioning - Ward calls it his "kryptonite" - and Sulaimon often cited a poor fitness level as a contributing factor to his sophomore struggles.

"When your conditioning is gone, and other parts of your game are starting to suffer from it, you lose your confidence a little bit,” Ward said.

Sulaimon has asthma, and taking just a few days off can set him back significantly. He wasn't as disciplined as he needed to be after helping Team USA win the FIBU U19 World Championships last summer.

"I’ve always had asthma - it's always a thing I've battled, especially growing up," Sulaimon said. "It's still not an excuse. When I'm in really, really good shape, it doesn't bother me that much. When I'm not disciplined every day, a day or two of not exercising, I can get in terrible shape. It's all about knowing my body, knowing my condition and making sure I'm staying on top of it."

It looks like Coach K plans on Rasheed being a focal point of next year's team and is trying to build his confidence -- he also spoke specifically about Rasheed during that ESPN podcast with Andy Katz and Seth Greenberg and during his postseason press conference several weeks ago. He focused in a similar way on Mason heading into Mason's senior season.

I think Rasheed is getting the message loud and clear and hopefully will be mentally and physically prepared to have a breakout junior season.

An interesting quote from the first article:

“We’re almost always going to be young, so what does that mean? And what can you do with young and talented and a sprinkling of veterans?” Krzyzewski mused...

This strikes home with me because here at DBR we've been talking exhaustively about whether or not K can adjust his defensive concepts to fit a young team. Not surprisingly, it seems he's been thinking about it as well.
