I always found that entire family to be VERY sketchy, and never quite understood why we were even in the mix to start.

Sometimes The Good Lord looks after us and we don't even know it at the time. GoDuke!

Well, as an attorney quoted in the story says, "It would be a violation ... if that loan would not generally be available to the institution's students and their family or friends."

Maybe every student's father at UCLA gets hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in "loans" from the unnamed marketing firm.

As General Buck Turgidson said in Dr. Strangelove, "I'd hate to draw any conclusions until all the facts are in...."

But hey, maybe the NCAA will be interested. They really jumped all over the fake classes at uncch. And if they do, and if UCLA's 25 wins last year are vacated, does that mean JD gets to add two more conference wins to his 2012-13 resume? Or at least have the two losses to UCLA voided? Not sure how that works....

And I agree with Lord Ash: The whole thing had an odor about it during SM's recruitment.

Shabazz was considered a great talent. But you had to know his father would be trying to use that talent for his own gain, above board or below board.
