(Mods, I couldn't find the Amaker thread--please move if you'd like.)

Great article in the Times about Harvard bball (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/19/sports/ncaabasketball/harvards-latest-basketball-success-winning-over-its-campus.html?hp&_r=0).

On Sunday, Amaker said that what he has enjoyed most about the team’s recent turnaround is how the basketball program has become a sort of common ground for the university’s far-flung components.

“It’s been so cool to see our basketball team connect our community,” he said. “Harvard has such greatness, and it’s been viewed at times as greatness on separate islands. I’m not sure that we’ve ever had what we have now, which is the way our campus has been connected over a silly game of basketball.”

The Rev. Jonathan L. Walton, a professor of Christian morals at Harvard and minister of its Memorial Church, says the team’s success has done more than that.

“In some ways, the success of the basketball team has democratized the campus,” he said. “Basketball is something that is accessible to a lot of different people from a lot of different communities.

Thanks for posting this article. Great to see Tommy Amaker's program enjoying continued success and being embraced by the university community. It seems to be a great fit. We know what happens in March with 12 seed and 5 seed match ups. Go Crimson.
