Duke number 10, but, according to Forbes, second highest expenses, behind only Louisville.

As always, the numbers schools report can be fudged every which way, as indicated by this quote about L'ville: "Alumni have also been pleased, as the school counts a massive $29 million in contributions, nearly 75% of which it attributes to the basketball team." (Emphasis mine.)

I've used these examples before: How does the Duke Golf Course get attributed? Does the golf team pay rent to the Wash Duke or vice versa? What about the intersection between Wally Wade and Duke Sports Medicine? Intramural v varsity sports in general?

The numbers mean exactly what the schools want them to mean. Trying to tease anything else out is an exercise in futility.

For a school with ~6,500 undergrads, that's impressive. Louisville has nearly 16,000 undergrads.
