The Emily K Center is a wonderful community resource for many students and families. For those that will be in the area, I'd like to share their invitation to their pre-game celebration prior to the Duke/UNC game on Saturday:
Dear Friends and Fans of the Emily K Center,
Please join us and celebrate (http://app.bronto.com/public/?q=ulink&fn=Link&ssid=13227&id=jqoy5ddqjpo1ilpmyqlga1jz6xc5r&id2=hbd6pzy1nyu6ify4xrs43lmr3euxw&subscriber_id=bnrqjtzcsswnkjphoiqfkmxoleglbcp&delivery_id=baizsatpcnduqmndzolebfpputbxbeg&tid=3.M6s.BUnGQw.DqiU.eDUS..xg-j.b..l.BH_q.a.Uw_x9A.Uw_1eA.BXhZUg) one of the greatest rivalries in college basketball on Saturday, March 8th!
Stop by the Emily K Center before the big game anytime between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. for a bit of genuine North Carolina barbecue, some sweet tea, and more than likely, a bit of trash talk. Former Duke player and ACC Basketball Legend Ken Dennard will share his favorite memories of the Duke-Carolina rivalry at 6:00 p.m. Our full-sized gym, complete with the 2001 Final Four floor, will also be open -- recreations of your own favorite rivalry moments are welcome.
We'll also have video highlights of games past, Duke-UNC rivalry trivia, and raffle prizes like autographed basketballs. Please RSVP (http://app.bronto.com/public/?q=ulink&fn=Link&ssid=13227&id=jqoy5ddqjpo1ilpmyqlga1jz6xc5r&id2=2zlcm4vvnjnceh9qi8rzdlocphkqx&subscriber_id=bnrqjtzcsswnkjphoiqfkmxoleglbcp&delivery_id=baizsatpcnduqmndzolebfpputbxbeg&tid=3.M6s.BUnGQw.DqiU.eDUS..xg-j.b..l.BH_q.a.Uw_x9A.Uw_1eA.BXhZUg) so we can make sure to have plenty of food. We hope to see you on March 8th!

Shortly after I received that email, Kenny Dennard emailed me the following, which he's given me permission to post:
While the Duke players and coaches aren’t looking past Wake Forest, I am :)!!
Please join me this coming Saturday between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm for a pre-game bash at The Emily K Center and check out what an unbelievable place it is ... plus, there's free BBQ!! #MostExcellent
As you may know, The Emily K Center is doing great things! Its mission to inspire students to dream big, act with character and purpose, and reach their potential as leaders in their community is generating significant returns for its participants, as well as all those associated with the Center. The Center’s K to College Model serves academically-focused students in out-of-school programming designed to help them achieve in school, gain entry to college, and break the cycle of poverty in their families. In addition, the Center serves thousands of students and community members monthly through the use of the Center’s multipurpose rooms, gymnasium and performance stage.
And there’s no excuse not to drop by since there’s no charge for Saturday’s pre-game shindig. So please register at https://t.co/NgpbrGTZgO so Adam can order enough chow (I registered twice just in case :))
Hope to see you there, and GO DUKE!!!
