It is interesting how you take some things (and some people) for granted, and don't really think about them until they aren't there. I never really thought much about how fortunate we are on this board to have Jim's factual grounding. Good luck in your recovery. Being an aging baby boomer myself I have discovered we do not mend as quickly as we used to. Just be patient and you will return healthier than before.

There are actually a number of posters that when I see they have posted last, I will also take notice. I will also click on a topic that I would otherwise not be interested in if I see Jim's name knowing whatever he has written will be worth reading.

Hi everyone, I'm scheduled to have surgery tomorrow morning to remove my gall bladder. If no complications arise, I should be home Saturday. I'll not attempt to guess how long it will take for me to get back up to full speed. I very much appreciate everyone's expression of concern and prayers.

Gall bladder? Who needs 'em? Back in Wallace Wade's day they played football within minutes of getting theirs removed, and played both ways, too. None of this tv time-out stuff or fancy helmets that changed design every other week either. Hope all will be well soon, Jim.

I wish you well Mr Sumner! I had the same surgery when I was in my 30's and took about a week to get back up to full speed. I can say though that it helped me a lot with stomach issues from that point on. Huge relief. Hope it cure your ill's as well.

Still on the mend. This is taking much longer than I could possibly have expected. But the trend lines are positive and there should be no permanent problems.

Hoping you have licked whatever it was that complicated what is almost always a simple operation. (We all know there is no such thing.) I can promise you from experience that CTN vibes are miracle workers. You've had bucket full of them working for you so I've not even been worried!!! I hope I speak for all of us in that we care greatly about your well being Mr Sumner. You have been greatly missed. I kept waiting for you to jump back in there and enlighten us all with your wisdom in the stretch run of the season, and when that did not happen I admit to being a bit worried something was not going right. Glad to hear you are mending. Hope you reach the finish line of this deal soon. We miss your knowledge and input.

Jim... it's very nice to hear from you. Was wondering through the whole season how you were doing. Well, if the hard stuff is behind you, next year's Duke basketball AND football teams should be very good, very fun, etc. I hope you make it back by then... and get to enjoy. :cool:
