From Maxwell Press Release

"The Maxwell Football Club, the oldest football club in America, announced today that Duke head coach David Cutcliffe has been selected as its Collegiate Coach of the Year for the 2013 season.

Cutcliffe led the Blue Devils to their first winning season, 10-3, since 1994, and an ACC Coastal Division championship. Their 10 wins are the most a Duke football team has ever won in a season. The 1933, 1936, 1938 and 1941 teams won nine games.

In six years with Cutcliffe on the sidelines, the Blue Devils have won 31 games; in the 15 seasons prior to Cutcliffe's arrival and dating back to 1993, Duke won a combined 33 games. Eight of those wins came in 1994. Duke will face Texas A&M in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31.

Maxwell Football Club Executive Director Mark Wolpert commented, "Coach Cutcliffe has engineered a tremendous season for the Duke football program. The team's 10-3 record is a great testament to the hard work of Coach and his staff, and also to the dedication shown by the student-athletes involved in the football program at Duke University."

Cutcliffe will be honored Friday, March 14, 2014 at the 77th Maxwell Club National Awards Gala which will be held at the Revel Atlantic City Resort. Other honorees that will be recognized at the event include AJ McCarron (Alabama) winner of the Maxwell Award and Aaron Donald (Pittsburgh) the Chuck Bednarik Award winner. The Club will be announcing its professional award winners in the next several weeks. "

Congratulations to Coach Cutcliffe!

Since I'm sure he will mention his staff and players as the reason he received the honor, I'll congratulate them, also.
