UCLA's very unique, 6'9" sophomore point guard Kyle Anderson has already decided that he's coming out after this year (http://zagsblog.com/articles/now-playing-the-point-and-preparing-for-nba-uclas-anderson-returns-home-to-face-duke/#more-107353). Or at least his father has. This despite the very wide range of opinions on Kyle's skill set (and his lack of traditional athleticism) translating into the NBA. Mr. Anderson says there's no question about it, though. It's happening. I know the words aren't from Kyle's mouth, but dad sure seems pretty definitive. Over the years some guys have made it public say, before the tournament, though even that is unusual. I certainly don't recall a player ever making such a decision public in December.

I remember reading something in the pre-season about Kyle (and family) deciding this would be his last year at UCLA. My understanding is that this has been public knowledge for a little while.

To be fair, his stock likely isn't going to go up much if he sticks around.

This makes no sense at all. He has literally no shot at being a first rounder this year. Why would you decide to leave early the year where the draft will be as deep as any draft in recent memory? http://www.draftexpress.com/

Check that out. Wayne Selden, Isaiah Austin, Glenn Robinson, and Mitch McGary are borderline first rounders in this draft. Anderson doesn't have a chance in hell of being drafted before those guys. Actually, Draftexpress rates him as the 82nd best prospect. EIGHTY-SECOND. Dude might not even get drafted.

What NBA position does he play, even? This guy's dad sounds like a pretty misinformed guy . . . if I were Alford, I'd tell him to wait another year at least.
