Clearly the Crusaders are in trouble, but I expect them to avoid the upset when all is said and done;). Neither team looks very good so far. Holy Cross!

were Carolina to lose to, say, Holy Cross on the same night that Duke obliterated an opponent and secured the #1 and #4 players from next year's incoming class.

Just hypothetically.

I'd love it! (Alas, it won't happen - how many times has unc broken my heart?)

Just cast your mind back to that incredible game when Austin drove a stake into so many tiny shriveled hearts over there...it always makes me smile.:D

Both teams are shooting like garbage. Fouls are even but UNC is deeper, so holy Cross will have issues later in the 2nd.

My thoughts exactly. Of course it was called on their best scorer

Shades of Holy Cross-Kansas in the 2002 NCAA tournament. The 16-seeded Crusaders put the scare of a lifetime into the Jayhawks that night, before ultimately falling just short in the end. It's time to tidy up some unfinished business.

Even if UNC hangs on, which they inevitably will, in the words of Fran Fraschilla, "Wake up call."

Holy Cross got it back to six with just over a minute left, but in the end they couldn't avoid the loss to the upstart Cheatin' Heels. Ole Roy was curiously docile during the proceedings, but was heard to exclaim as he walked out of sight, "Merry Christmas to Duke on this November night!". 60-52.

Was it really fair to make ol' roy play such a big game without two key players? When oh when will the NCAA stop persecuting roy and the tarsqueal nation?

Holy Cross got it back to six with just over a minute left, ....

Since Carolina won, does that means Roy stayed the entire 40 minutes? Or did he turn it over to Blue Steel since it could've gotten ugly?

In other news, Mich St. having a tough time putting Columbia away, up 51-48, but had been trailing.

Edit: now tied 51-51. Hmmm let-down much?

Roar, Lions, Roar.

Ugh, the Lions have had two straight possessions with a shot-clock violation. Credit the Mich St fans counting down the clock at least 3 seconds before the actual time on the clock. It seems to have worked.

25 seconds left, Columbia down 6 points, and they literally slowly WALKED the ball up the court like there was 2 minutes on the clock. I've never seen anything like that this side of elementary playground basketball.

IC was a fun read during their game. Talk about some fair weather fans, not only were they ready to tar and feather the team, they had Ol' Roy half-way into retirement.

Agreed. About 90% of the time I come away laughing. Great entertainment value. The other 10% I'm just shaking my head...

Roys teams are pretty easy to figure out. If they have an elite pg, truly elite not above average, then you will have your hands full every night. If they don't, move along, nothing to see here.
