The other day, the Post had a brief article on former Terp, D. J. Strawberry, who made the Suns. I couldn’t find that article but found the following which also contained a brief note about former State player, Vinny Del Negro. For those who are hung up with recruiting ratings, neither of these players was highly ranked coming out of high school but both became solid players in the ACC and play(ed) in the NBA.

gw67, the only thing I've seen in the Post is the same AP article you linked to above. Congrats to DJ on getting that guaranteed roster spot and the two-year contract. He's one of the few Maryland players of the last few years that I've really liked, and I hope he finds a spot where they appreciate what he can do well.
