Just out of top 25. Just ahead of USC, Va Tech, Notre Dame etc.

In the coaches poll, we went from having more votes last week than the week previous, to none. That makes no sense. (VT is now getting votes once again in both.)

The only thing I can think of is that VT gave Miami a whipping that caused the Hurricane radio network to use the word unacceptable repeatedly during the broadcast.

Looking at the latest position of Miami, we beat them, we take their spot in the top 25. Simple goal for the team. Take care of business on the field.

Duke actually got 22 votes in the coaching poll:

Duke also got 28 points in the Harris poll (the second poll used for BCS rankings), good for 29th.

Stay focused.
That's the team's job. As fans, we love polls, and for Duke to now be mentioned in both polls for three weeks straight is pretty amazing, and well worth paying attention to.

That is certainly true. I will throw out what Cut said before the game, which is that it will be important to see how we deal with being favored. That is still a work in progress, at least the first 20 minutes of the second half was.

I would love to be ranked, but not sure the team needs the distraction. Beat Miami, then worry about the consequences.

PS -- BBQ looked great!

Truthfully, :rolleyes: the automatic editor in the Coaches' Poll is programmed to delete any word with sequential letters, d-u-k-e.

Don't much care about polls right now. Next up, Miami. Game at a time. Plenty of time in January to look back and smile. Right now....next pitch, as my baseball coach used to say .
