Tim Cook (Apple CEO and Fuqua alumnus; recently visited campus) just joined twitter.

Special note to his bio line (so what if it's 3rd, we can't all be perfect):

CEO Apple, Fan of Auburn football and Duke basketball

Another high-ranking Apple exec, Eddy Cue (Senior VP of Apple and a Duke grad) is a big Duke fan, and has some nice perks:

I knew there was a reason I liked that guy ;-)

Other than the fact that Apple products are near magical in the seamless methods they integrate (not trying to start an Apple/Android or Apple/Windows argument).

Heh. I'm mentioned by name in that article! Down near the bottom - I was on that Duke trip. Pretty neat.

Very cool for you!

For about 15 out of the last 16 years I worked just across the freeway from Apple's Results Way and had many business meetings with Apple. Silicon Valley is an exciting place to live and work. Never met Eddy Cue, but certainly heard plenty about him. Glad to hear he's a proud Dukie with two sons who attended Duke, also! (BTW, the Duke CIO is a pretty big on Apple products, too. I served on an Apple higher ed advisory board with her and she's a well-respected national leader in higher education technology.)

All that said, I'm quite happily retired now, enjoying reading about Duke and Apple and any synergistic combinations of the two, whether they be technology- or basketball-related.

Go Duke!
