I wonder why we did not bother to recruit him? He has ACC talent (http://www.dailypress.com/sports/colleges/acc-all-access-blog/dp-spt-acc-all-access-tj-lang-becomes-virginia-techs-second-2014-class-mens-hoops-commitment-in-last-week-20130916,0,3062598.post), as the commitment to Va Tech indicates and the scholarship offer from Memphis is notable as well.

T.J. will get to lace them up against the son of one of his father's ACC contemporaries. B.J. Stith (http://rivals.yahoo.com/virginia/basketball/recruiting/player-B.J.-Stith-129446), the son of former UVa great Bryant Stith, is also in the Class of 2014 and will play for the Cavaliers.

It's a pretty sobering reminder of the passage of time when the guys who played in the ACC while you were in college now have sons who will be playing in the ACC.

Incidentally, Bryant Stith was one of my favorite non-Duke players ever.

I hope T.J. Lang enjoys plenty of success, but I fear that we will see next season that playing for Virginia Tech is less than a surefire indicator of having ACC talent.

Wait until the grand-children start showing up. Won't be long for me.

I remember tony lang's return to Cameron as a member of one of those professional all star teams ( possibly ea sports with former arkansas player corey beck)... Tony's hops had faded some because the rim blocked one of his dunk attempts.

How in the world did Scotty Thurman hit that shot? Lang was all over him.

Always loved Tony Lang. I liked a story he told about how his high school coach taught him to block shots without fouling by imagining that the goal was to block an imaginary second ball that was on top of the real ball. I've tried to implement this trick numerous times in my own play, but, um, it hasn't worked out too well.

Maybe Tony's son bites his nails and that is why Duke is not recruiting him?

Having nothing to with young Lang:

New Auburn coach Bruce Pearl has picked up the nation's leading returning scorer in Niagara transfer Antoine Mason.

Antoine Mason was second only to Creighton's Doug McDermott in scoring last season, averaging 25.6 points per game for Niagara.

Mason, a 6-foot-3 guard who averaged 25.6 points last season, will be eligible this season for Pearl and the Tigers due to the NCAA's transfer rule, which allows players who have graduated and have eligibility remaining to be able to play immediately.

Mason, the son of former NBA player Anthony Mason, chose Auburn over Providence. He was second in the nation in scoring last season behind Creighton's Doug McDermott, who averaged 26.9 points per game as a senior.
