Apparently for violating a domestic violence protective order.

Suspension is over. Fired completely now. Must be more to the story.
Can't see why he would be fired so quickly over what's been reported so far.

There are two explanations. Here are the money quotes:

Frazier was initially suspended with full pay, but since his contract was terminated, he will not be entitled to any additional severance or a buyout of the remaining $450,000 for the two years left on his contract, according to the school.

This was the second arrest for Frazier. He was suspended in May 2012 for assault on a female, but was reinstated in July 2012.

(a) Under the terms of his contract, NCCU can get rid of him now and not owe him a dime -- even for the rest of the year. This is very attreactive to any school somewhat disenchanted with its head coach.

(b) He had already been suspended once previously for violence against women. Why shouldn't he be canned?

I think a) is the winner. On b), according to what is being reported so far, his big transgression this time was just calling his wife, who was the object of the first suspension action, to tell her paid a ticket off. If a) is not the reason, then he must have done more than just tell her about the ticket, but we just haven't heard about it.
