A movie directed by Orson Welles, starring the Mercury Players, was discovered in an Italian warehouse. Titled "Too Much Johnson" it is a 40-minute black and white film based on a 19th century play by William Gillette. Apparently, Welles has turned into a slapstick comedy -- he has a cameo as a Keystone Cop. The cast includes Joseph Cotton, Ruth Ford and Virginia Nicholson. Interesting that in addition to a cameo by Welles, it includes cameos by his producing partner John Houseman (who would not show up in films until 1964's Seven Days in May), composer Marc Blitzstein (who was then working with Welles in a production of Cradle Will Rock) and a very young Judy Holliday.

The last copy of the film was thought to have been destroyed in a fire at Welles villa in Madrid.
