They kept the logo within the half court circle. I'm happy. No gaudy full court logos for us. No crazy background patterns. Just keepin' it classy.

They changed the logo in center court in removing the Iron D Basketball logo and just using the plain Iron D. People on the student section sideline will have to get used to seeing the logo upside down now.

It still looks good for tv, and the parquet is great.

Agreed. Buck the trend of flashy graphics and hidden images across the hardwood. Keep it classic.

Ah, good call, I just looked at some pictures from last year. It looks like they removed the basketball and net logo but left the size and color unchanged. The court this year appears to have a new size and scheme for the D.

Yes. The ACC's are very slightly different too.

Of course, being a 1997 graduate, we did not have ACCs on our court. #Old.

You didn't have "Coach K Court" on your court either. :p

When you look at the way so many schools feel the need to cover as much real estate as possible with a humungous chicken (https://sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/p480x480/189789_190626257645003_2531976_n.jpg) or gigantic ugly letter of the alphabet (http://www.scarletknights.com/facilities/images/rac.jpg), the power of understatement becomes compelling.

Being a 1960s grad, IIRC we had volleyball lines on the court, as well as the lines from IM hoops, which ran crosswise.

Did they also enlarge the words "Coach K Court"? I can't tell because there's no side-by-side images, but it looks larger to me.

I mean, they did repaint it. I certainly hope Duke paid for that.

Well, if Duke got some student-athletes to do it, I sure hope Duke didn't pay for it, because that would tarnish their precious amateur status.

they repaint it every 2 years and sand it every year, i believe....last time it was the big duke on the end-lines and the charge circle, time before that it was something else....it's just cool to see what the court will look like for this go around...and they tweak it every year, just like teams tweak uniforms....it's fun to banter on about when there's not much else going on

Other than changes in NCAA rules requiring new lines, adding ACCs in 1997 per conference rule, and the addition of Coach K Court, the court has only been "tweaked" twice since 1977 - 2011 and this summer.

I just noticed something else. It looks like "Coach K Court" is entirely in blue now. Previously the "K" was black (http://m4.i.pbase.com/g1/85/279785/2/108700144.PA83pBo3.jpg). Am I seeing and recalling this correctly?

Maybe that's the change I noticed. I thought the "Coach K Court" was also written in larger letters, but I could be wrong about that. I asked about it earlier in this thread but nobody responded, so I figured maybe there was no change in it, but perhaps there was.

So, at a minimum the color of the font was changed. I still think it is also larger than it used to be.

I wonder why none of the sites post a side-by-side so we can really see the differences? It seems like it wouldn't be too hard to do.

I can't find a perfect comparison but it looks like "Coach" and "Court" might be outlined in white rather than black, or not outlined at all. Also the "K" looks slightly less bolded.
