The USA has easily won their first two games in Kazan, Russia at the World University Games. Tricia Liston scored 13 points in the 120-32 win over Mali and 14 points in the 101-61 win over the Czech Republic.

The USA completed preliminary round play with a 105-75 shellacking of Brazil. Tricia Liston scored nine points in 16 minutes. She shot 1-5 on 3-pointers:

A jump shot in the paint by Liston with 7:55 left in the fourth quarter gave the USA its largest lead of the game at 37 points (89-52), an amount the USA would reach three more times in the game before ultimately arriving at the final score of 105-75.

The USA defeated Sweden, 103-72, in quarterfinal action. Tricia Liston scored 11 points and was 3-4 on 3-point FGs:
