Vern Lundquist mentioned Duke during Ken Duke's first ever tournament win at 44 years of age. The crowd kept chanting "Duke, Duke" as Ken Duke grabbed a share of the lead towards the end. Lundquist then pointed out that the chant was not for our school, but for the player. Then, when it happened again, he mentioned to those listening that we weren't in Cameron Indoor stadium. He repeatedly came back to these comments into the playoff, and then mentioned that Connecticut was not usually as welcome for the Duke name----referring to us again. Pretty cool, and not bad PR.:)
